FHCI End-of-Year Information

The staff of Forest Heights would like to extend our thanks to all of our students and their families for their continued flexibility as we slowly emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic this year.  It was amazing to see the transformation for both students and staff as we were able to offer more activities and school events.  The month of June has been incredibly busy and exciting – Grade 8 Orientation, the Trojan Picnic, TAG, the Honours Assembly and the Athletic Banquet (and many more!) – and we know that the next two weeks of classes will fly by!

Here are a few things that you need to know as we wrap up this school year:

Student Timetables for Next Year

Guidance counsellors have been working on finalizing student timetables for the 2022-2023 school year.  Counsellors will continue to contact students if there are course conflicts or other issues to address.  We will be looking for students in their scheduled classes, or may attempt to contact them via email or a phone call.  We appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

If you have requested an appointment about your course requests for next year, please note that we are working on timetable issues in order of priority to ensure that all students have the correct number of compulsory and required courses to support success, pathway and graduation plans.  We will not be making changes to elective courses at this time.

Instructional Support Days – June 22nd, 23rd and 24th

These days are an opportunity for students to focus on completing a variety of assessments.  Students have the option of learning remotely from home, but must be available to come into the school if requested to attend by their teacher and/or to meet on-line with their teacher and classmates during their scheduled class time.  Attendance will be taken on these days.  ACE students will attend their regular classes.

Final Report Cards

Semester Two Final Report Cards will be mailed to all students the week July 4th.

Graduating Students

To our graduates – we thank you for all of your contributions to FHCI and look forward to welcoming you back to FHCI for Commencement on Friday, October 14, 2022.  The Commencement fee is available for purchase now using School-Day.  Alternatively, cash payments can be brought to the Main Office.  Please refer to School-Day and the FHCI website for additional information about this celebration.

Returning Chromebooks

Students who are leaving the WRDSB (including graduates) are expected to return their Chromebooks, chargers and all other loaned items on Tuesday, June 21st between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm at the IST office (located across from the Main Office).  Chromebooks that are not returned will be disabled by WRDSB Information Technology Services.  Note: If Chromebooks and chargers are required for summer school, they may be returned at the end of August.

Google Accounts

Students who are leaving the WRDSB will have their Google Drive and their WRDSB email accounts closed over the summer. It’s recommended that students back up all documents and emails to their personal drive/accounts before June 30, 2022.  Apps such as Google Takeout can make this process easier.

Summer School

Students who have registered for a summer school course should continue to monitor their WRDSB Gmail account for communications about their course.  Summer school courses will be accessed through the WRDSB Brightspace platform, which is linked to the Virtual Learning button on MyWay.

First Day of School – Tuesday, September 6th

More information about the start of the school year will be posted on School Day and the school website as it becomes available in August; however, here is some information to assist you in your thinking about next year:

Student timetables (grades 10-12) will be made available to students on the first day of school.  Students entering Grade 9 will have their timetables mailed to their home address in mid-August as well as specific first day of school information.

School Main Office Summer Hours

The Main Office will be open from July 4th-7th and July 11-14th, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.  Due to some significant construction projects happening at FHCI this summer, please use the main entrance of the school only.  The Main Office will be closed from July 15th to August 19th, re-opening on August 22nd.

  • Departing students will receive a copy of their transcript with their report card. Current students can request a copy from the Guidance Office.  Other transcript requests can be completed by completing the online form on the Board website.
  • Registration appointments will be booked starting the last week of August. Please complete the Online Registration to start the process and we will connect with you in August. If you have any questions, please call 519-744-6567, press 4, and leave a message and we will contact you upon our return.

Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
