Forest Heights encourages all students to get to and from school in active and environmentally sustainable ways.  We encourage students to walk, cycle, or take public transportation.

We know that sometimes parents or caregivers need to drive their children to and from school.  Parents who regularly drop-off their students in the morning and/or pick up their students in the afternoon are asked to do so outside of school parking lots and driveways.  We encourage a “Drive to 5” approach in order to minimize traffic around the school site at peak times.

Drive to 5 is a program that designates legal and walkable locations within a five minute walk from the school.  By driving to and parking at these locations, we are able to disperse traffic away from the congested school zone and create a safer community for all.

Please consult this Drive to 5 Map which indicates with green lines the streets that provide on-street parking.  Most of which are within a 5 minute walk to the school.

Students who are walking to school are reminded to use sidewalks, pathways, and crosswalks – look both ways before crossing any street or driveway.

We appreciate your support in having our students get to and from school in the safest and healthiest way possible.
