It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of our seventh week of Distance Learning.  We are proud of all the hard work of our staff and students as we continue to navigate teaching and learning during this unprecedented time.  While our school buildings will remain closed, distance learning will continue until the end of June.  Students are encouraged to continue to engage in their classes through the on-line learning platforms and to stay in contact with their teachers.

We also want to recognize the extraordinary efforts of our staff and students as they continue to support our wider community.  Many of our students are essential workers and the work that they are doing is critical – thank you for all that you are doing.  If you are passing in front of the school, you will see signs, created by our leadership students, expressing our collective appreciation to all our frontline workers.

We have had teachers and students writing letters and sharing artwork with staff and residents in long-term care homes, recently highlighted in the local news.  Staff have been sharing messages of support with students and their families.  A great example of this is the Mental Health Video that was created and shared on social media during Mental Health Week.  And much, much more!

Never before have the characteristics that we Trojan’s pride ourselves on – kindness, resiliency, and optimism – meant so much and have been so evident.  We all recognize that we are a part of something bigger.
