“The purpose of Girls Night In is to improve the mental health and well-being of female students at FHCI,” said Farah Wahib, grade 11 student at FHCI. “By strengthening student resiliency, improving self-esteem and self-efficacy and understanding characteristics of healthy relationships our goal is to reduce rates of bullying, depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.”

The Guest speaker at the event is Vanessa Buttinger, Miss Oktoberfest 2016. There will be three rotating sessions that feature a discussion and an activity. A karaoke dance will complete the evening. Girls Night In will be held on Friday, May 12th at Forest Heights Collegiate Institute on Fischer-Hallman in Kitchener. All girls are welcome, but if they are not a student at FHCI or from one of the grade 7 and 8 feeder schools, they must be accompanied by a FHCI student.
