The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) allows students in Grades 11 & 12 to explore apprenticeship options in a skilled trade career.
To be eligible for OYAP, you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age and in either Grade 11 or Grade 12;
- Have successfully completed 16 credits.
DUAL CREDIT PROGRAMS
Y Credits – Semester 1
The following Dual credit programs are available in semester 1 and are for students who may need a reset to get their diploma completed:
These credits – Semester 1 – are delivered completely at Conestoga College: Culinary Fundamentals, Mechanical Fundamentals (plumbing & heating)
O Credits – Semester 2
The following Dual credit programs are a great choice for students entering their final semester of high school and who are:
- Enrolled in a Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) or
- Enrolled in an Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)
These Credits – Semester 2 – are delivered with a Co-op placement and on the Conestoga College campus: Automotive Service Technician (AST), Cook, Child Development Practitioner (ECE), Truck & Coach Technician, Welder.
